Construction prices in Germany have risen sharply since 2010. Numerous demographic and economic factors, such as the growing population, the shortage of real estate, interest rate trends and rising prices are having a huge impact on construction and real estate prices. The construction price index is used as a KPI to record the development of these prices.

Construction price index – What does this value say?

The construction price index for residential buildings shows the price trend for individually planned detached houses and apartment buildings. In this case, however, only the building is included. If you look at the index for recent years, it becomes clear that prices for residential buildings have increased by 41% between 2010 and 2021.

Construction price index 2023

The construction price index for 2023 has risen again in line with construction price trends. This is currently 19.614 (as at May 2022) and will be applied with immediate effect in all valuations carried out with Wert14.
